Here's the information we'll ask you about when you call:
- Adult Camper/Primary Contact: name, mailing address, cell phone number, email address, & birthdate
- Spouse: name, cell phone number, email address, & birthdate
- Children: name, gender & birthdate
- Are there any dietary needs for anyone in your family?
Ride Age Restrictions:
- Trail Ride: for ages 8 and above
- Ropes Course: for ages 4 and above
- Whitewater Rafting: for ages 6 and above under normal water conditions (rafting is the only additional per person fee associated with camp if your family chooses to participate).
Pricing is per person and includes a standard lodge room. If you'd like a larger accommodation, please see the "Larger Family Accommodations" rates below. Scholarship Opportunities are available. The scholarship application for 2028 will become live on Tuesday, January 5th, 2027 & you will be able to find the link here on our website.

Larger Family Accommodations
Condos (2 bedrooms) - $1,500 additional charge
Lodge Suites (2 rooms) - $1,750 additional charge
The Antero Chalet (3 bedrooms) - $2,000 additional charge
The Shavano Chalet (4 bedrooms) - $2,000 additional charge
Transportation to Trail West
Each family is responsible for their own transportation to and from Trail West. We encourage a family road trip or flying into Colorado.
There are two airports closest to us, Colorado Springs airport (2 hours from Trail West) or the Denver Airport (3 hours from Trail West). Once you arrive in Colorado, families can rent a car and have it for the week (there isn't a rental car return in Buena Vista, CO).
Champion Allocation: Initial Request Period
Begins on Thursday, October 1st, 2026
The Initial Request period for Young Life Area Directors/Champions begins on Thursday, October 1st, 2026. *If you are a Young Life Area Director appointing a Champion from your area please email lgrap@younglife.org with that information prior to Friday, September 25th, 2026.

Initial Request Period: From October 1st, 2026 - November 18th, 2026, Young Life Area Directors/Champions can submit their initial request for the weeks & accommodations they would like for the Summer of 2028 here at Trail West Lodge. The Initial Request Form can be retrieved by reaching out to our office by phone, (719)395-2477, or email: lgrap@younglife.org. Trail West reserves the right to “right-size” requests based on the number of families you have brought in prior years. In addition to this, new Champions may only request up to 6 rooms in the initial request process.
Champions will be made aware of the dates and accommodations they have received from their initial request on Tuesday, December 1st, 2026.
Reservation Round 1 (R1): From January 5th, 2027 - February 17th, 2027, all the accommodations that the Champion received in their initial request, will be placed on courtesy hold to allow individual families to call in and book. These families will make a reservation and secure their accommodation with a non-refundable $1,000 deposit. This $1,000 deposit is subject to our cancellation policy. Then, full payment is due by February 1st, 2028.
R1 ends on Wednesday, February 17th, 2027, and Champions may either release unreserved accommodations, or extend those accommodations with a non-refundable $500 deposit per accommodation. Extended Champion accommodations with a non-refundable $500 deposit per accommodation expire Friday, October 29th, 2027 if no individual family reservation has been made.
General Booking
Begins on Tuesday, March 16th, 2027
General Booking for 2028 begins at 8:30am Mountain Time on Tuesday, March 16th, 2027. Rooms can be booked with a $1,000 non-refundable deposit subject to the cancellation policy. There is no limit to the number of rooms that can be booked, subject to availability. Full payment is due by February 1st, 2028.
Deposit and Cancellation Policy
Deposit Policy: A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is due upon booking an accommodation. Full payment is due by February 1st, 2028.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your room before February 1st, 2028, you forfeit the $1,000 deposit. If you cancel your room after February 1st, 2028, your full payment is non-refundable. In either situation, if Trail West is fully booked for your week & therefore, can rebook the room, you will be refunded all except a $500 cancellation penalty. The $500 cancellation penalty is non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be converted into a donation.
